Media Guard is a WordPress plugin and website operated by Paul’s Perfect PC, LLC (“we”, “us”, “our”). This site is https://wpmediaguard.com.

What this policy covers
This policy describes the personal data we collect on wpmediaguard.com, why we collect it, how we use it, and what your rights are. It applies to visitors, free-plugin downloaders, Pro/Agency customers, and people who contact support.
It does not cover data handled by the Media Guard plugin installed on your WordPress site. When the plugin runs on your site, you are the data controller for any access logs, user information, and file metadata it creates — that data stays in your database and is never sent to us.
What we collect
When you visit the site
- Standard web server logs. Our hosting provider records your IP address, user agent, referrer, and the URLs you request. These logs help us run the site and stop abuse. Typical retention: 30 days.
- Cookies. We use a small number of first-party cookies for session state and shopping cart functionality. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies on wpmediaguard.com.
When you create an account or buy a license
- Name, email address, and billing address you enter at checkout.
- The license key issued to you, the tier (Pro or Agency), and the WordPress sites where the key is activated (site URL only — we never see your site’s files, users, or content).
- Order history (products purchased, dates, totals).
When you pay
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number, CVC, or banking details. Stripe receives the data needed to process the payment and is bound by its own privacy policy (stripe.com/privacy).
When your Media Guard install checks in
To deliver updates and authorize the license, your WordPress site sends us:
- Your license key
- The site URL where Pro is activated
- The Media Guard Pro version installed
This is the minimum needed to verify your license is active and serve the correct update file. We do not collect protected-file paths, user lists, access-log entries, or any WordPress content from your site.
When you email support
If you email support@wpmediaguard.com, we keep the email thread so we can help you and follow up later. Please don’t paste passwords or sensitive personal data into support emails — share temporary credentials through a password manager instead.
Why we collect it
- Deliver the product — issue your license, let your site download updates, fulfill your order.
- Run the business — invoicing, accounting, tax compliance.
- Provide support — answer your questions and reproduce issues.
- Protect the site — detect and block abuse, brute-force login attempts, and fraud.
We do not sell or rent your personal data to anyone, ever.
Who we share it with
Only the third parties needed to run the service:
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Our email provider — sending order confirmations, license emails, and support replies.
- Our hosting provider — storage and delivery of the site.
- Government / law enforcement — only when legally required to do so.
How long we keep it
- Account and license records — for as long as you have an active license, plus the period required for tax and accounting law (typically 7 years).
- Order history — kept as required by tax/accounting law.
- Support email threads — typically 2 years, then archived or deleted.
- Web server logs — about 30 days.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct information that is inaccurate.
- Delete your account and personal data, subject to legal retention obligations.
- Export your data in a portable format.
- Object to specific uses of your data.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@wpmediaguard.com from the address on file. We’ll respond within 30 days. Residents of the EU/UK have rights under the GDPR; California residents have rights under the CCPA — both are honored.
Cookies in detail
The cookies we set on wpmediaguard.com:
- WordPress session and login cookies — only set if you log in to your account.
- WooCommerce cart and session cookies — only set when you add a license to your cart or start checkout.
That’s it. We don’t run Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any third-party advertising trackers on wpmediaguard.com.
Security
We protect your data with TLS in transit, encrypted storage at rest, regular updates, restricted admin access, and a Web Application Firewall in front of the site. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously — the same way we expect our plugin to take your customers’ files seriously.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 16. We don’t knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Changes
If we materially change this policy, we’ll update the date below and — for customers with active accounts — send an email notice. Older versions are available on request.
